# Powerloom

## **What is Powerloom?**

Powerloom is a decentralized data indexing protocol designed to provide accurate, transparent on-chain information to dApps and other protocols. Founded in 2021 by Swaroop Hegde and Anomit Ghosh, it distinguishes itself from traditional solutions by collecting, analyzing, and supplying on-chain data in a fully decentralized manner.

The network comprises **Snapshotter Nodes** that act as "librarians": they monitor smart contracts, catalog changes and events, and validate information via peer-to-peer consensus, supporting integrations with platforms like Uniswap and Aave.

The protocol uses its native **\$POWER** token (total supply: approx. 1 billion) for economic coordination, staking on snapshotters and validators, reward distribution, and DAO governance. Snapshotter Nodes are lightweight and can be deployed on GitHub Codespaces with a single click. The system delivers real-time data, precise queries, and flexible templates for dashboards, bots, and aggregators.
